Gallery Tours & Hands-On Art Workshops

The DCCA offers Guide-led, inquiry-and discussion-based gallery tours to school, community, and adult groups. Follow your tour with an optional Hands-On Art Workshop led by a DCCA Teaching Artist. Tours are offered Tuesday through Sunday. Please allow 3 weeks advance notice to schedule a tour or workshop. Fees dependent on group size.

The DCCA introduces new school tour offerings!

Delaware Content Standards (DCS) Tours
Contemporary Art has never been so relevant to classroom learning! The DCCA now offers Delaware Content Standards (DCS) Tours for elementary school classes, K - 5.  DCS Tours are designed to serve as an extension of classroom learning for a variety of subjects including Math, Geography, Social Studies, Science and English.  Classroom teachers will select the most relevant offering and schedule the corresponding tour with a DCCA Docent. For example, a second grade class may take the “Parade of Pattern” tour to help its understanding of geometric reasoning.  The DCCA hopes to give classroom teachers a new approach to classroom instruction through the visual arts.

Nature in Art Tours
The DCCA and Delaware Art Museum are excited to introduce new Nature in Art tours beginning November 2011.  Tours will begin at the Delaware Art Museum where students will view works of art in the museum’s permanent collection that are inspired by nature.  Following lunch, the group will visit the DCCA where art works by contemporary artists who explore natural themes will be on view.
