Gilbert & Leona Designs

February 1 – March 29, 2013

Opening Reception: Friday, February 1, 2013, 5 – 9 pm

Gilbert & Leona designs one-of-a-kind totes, bags, wallets, journals from recycled post-manufactured leather and hardware. Their belief is that one of the best ways to limit throw-aways is to produce quality products that last. Gilbert & Leona reflects the philosophy and values of a time when a different relationship to objects meant everything had a purpose, even an unintended one. “We feel that almost every object had an intrinsic beauty waiting to be transformed.”

Yay 9

April 4 – May 28, 2013

Opening Reception: Friday, April 5th, 5 – 9 pm

Yay 9 is a celebration -- that special event, person, place or thing that makes you happy. Addye Durant created Grace, Lulu, and Violet who have “embraced their yays.” Yay 9 represents hip, stylish, and positive clothing and accessories built around the varied interests of three open-minded eccentric nine year olds. Yay 9 products are more playful for consumers who want a fun way to express their inner joy and taste.

Alternatives Features: Ayala Napthali

May 30 – July 23, 2013

Opening Reception: Friday, June 7, 2013, 5 – 9 pm

“In my work I draw inspiration from ancient alphanumeric systems, contemporary architecture, and my own personal cultural history. I am intrigued with balance and proportion, and feel as if each piece must find its axis on the wearer. The work is designed to be elegant, with minimal and bold forms,” explains Ayala Napthali.
