Art Salad is a free lunchtime lecture series that features multi-point perspectives into the world of contemporary art from artists, historians, educators, and curators.

February 7 – DCCA Artist in Residency Eric Leshinsky will discuss his work on the community program People’s Park.
February 14 – Join Philadelphia-based artist John Williams in a conversation about the Wilmington homes at the center of his exhibition Homeward Reflections.
February 21 – Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Painting Department Chair Al Gury provides an academic perspective on figurative painting and drawing.
February 28 – Assistant Professor at Drexel University Mark Stockton discusses his work in the group exhibition An Implied Narrative: Contemporary Figurative Works.
March 7 – New York-based artist Jason Maas speaks on his figurative drawings included in An Implied Narrative: Contemporary Figurative Works.
March 14 – Biologist and Laboratory Instructor at Swarthmore College Stacey Dougherty will discuss her role in the upcoming exhibition Taxonomy of Trash.
March 21 – Colette Gaiter, Associate Professor of Art at University of Delaware, will lead a discussion on gender and exploration of identities in conjunction with the work of artist Philemona Williamson.
March 28 – New Jersey-based artist Philemona Williamson leads a conversation about the narrative paintings in her upcoming solo exhibition on adolescent life.
April 4 – DCCA Studio Artist Daniel Jackson discusses his representational still life paintings.
April 11 – Sound artist Austen Brown speaks about his collaboration with the exhibition Taxonomy of Trash.
April 18 – Artist Alex Spinney leads a talk on her take on the portraiture genre with her detailed representations of birds.
April 25 – Philadelphia artist Erin Endicott will preview her upcoming exhibition of embroidery work on found textiles.
