Art Salad is a free lunchtime discussion forum. Artists, historians, educators, and curators share multipoint perspectives into the world of contemporary art. You are welcome to bring a lunch or enjoy on-site food truck lunch options WiLDWiCH, KOI on the Go, and Kapow. Offered jointly with the University of Delaware Osher Lifelong Institute.

March 19 – Delaware artist Dennis Beach discusses his eye-catching geometric sculptures in the DCCA solo show Color is Approximate.

March 26 – Karli Wurzelbacher, PhD candidate of Art History at University of Delaware, talks about the history of art collection and display.

April 2 – Sam Blanchard discusses his thought-provoking multi-media installation in the DCCA exhibition “…this used to be easier…”

April 9 – Members of the Wilmington-based makers community Barrel of Makers demonstrate exciting projects that combine art, craft, and technology.

April 16 – Gary Sczerbaniewicz talks about his interactive, three-part installation in the DCCA exhibition Aloft.

April 23 – DCCA studio artist Hugh Atkins discusses his exhibition in the Elizabeth Denison Hatch Gallery.

April 30 – With DCCA Curator Maiza Hixson and Delaware Art Museum Curator Mary Holahan, artists Antonio Puri, Charles Burwell, and Margo Allman participate in a panel discussion about their work and exhibition Layering Constructs.

May 7 – Drew Leshko talks about the detailed architectural models featured in the DCCA solo exhibition Relics, which are based on the artist’s own Philadelphia neighborhood.

May 14 – University of Delaware professor and artist Virginia Bradley discusses work featured in the University of Delaware BFA & MFA Exhibitions held at the DCCA.

May 21 – David Slovic speaks about his delicate, minimalist compositions in the DCCA solo show Whisper.

May 28 – Brothers Crae (xManik) and Corei Washington of SMASHED LABEL discuss their DCCA exhibition The xPop Show, which addresses graffiti art and pop culture.

June 4 – A representative artist from The Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition: New Eyes: Experimental Photography Today speaks about their work.
