75th American Abstract Artists Anniversary Exhibition

2011 is the 75th anniversary of the American Abstract Artists, an artist-run organization founded in New York City in 1936 to expand ideas and promote the exposure and understanding of abstract and non-objective art. To celebrate the anniversary of this historic organization, an exhibition of installations by three of its current members--Lynne Harlow, Marthe Keller, and Rossana Martinez--will take place in the Carole Bieber and Marc Ham gallery. Each of these artists creates installations with textiles and their works are often collaborative with dancers.

DCCA Wings Foundation Auditorium

Vincent Thomas (VTDance) performs with several of his Towson University students and faculty members in reflection and response to the art installation Fluid.  For the first performance at Towson University, he interviewed each of the artists and choreographed a piece that interacted with the art installations, expanding and deepening the visual interpretation of the viewer. This will be the second time dancing with the Fluid installations. The new version of the dance will be specific to the DCCA space. (www.vtdance.org)
