Description
The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DCCA), a non-collecting art museum located on Wilmington’s Riverfront, is seeking a 10-15 hour per week Education Intern for an approximately 12 week internship. The Education Intern assists the Curator of Education and Education Associate with administrative duties and research associated with the DCCA’s varied and numerous education programs. The Education Intern is responsible for assistance with program development, program documentation, and the marketing/communication of DCCA education programs to the public. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong interest in contemporary art and to those wishing to pursue a career in museum work.

Minimum Education Required
Undergraduate (junior/senior standing); graduate work preferred

Qualifications/Skills
The position requires a detail-oriented multi-tasker who is interested in a future in an art or education related field. The DCCA seeks an individual who works well in a team situation, is flexible, and has a strong work ethic; good writing and computer skills are essential.

Curatorial Internship (Unpaid)

Description
The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DCCA), a non-collecting art museum located on Wilmington’s Riverfront, is seeking a 10-15 hour per week Intern beginning on or about September 1, 2015 and ending on or about December 15, 2015. The Intern assists the Curatorial department with administrative duties and research associated with the DCCA’s exhibitions. The Intern is responsible for assisting Exhibition Designer during install, deinstall and gallery prep, preparation of exhibition materials and organization of artist calls, as well as additional administrative duties. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong interest in contemporary art and to those wishing to pursue a career in the museum field. InDesign and Photoshop experience preferred.

Undergraduate (junior/senior standing)

Marketing Internship (Unpaid)

The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DCCA), a non-collecting art museum located on Wilmington’s Riverfront, is seeking a 10-15 hour per week Intern beginning on or about September 1, 2015. This position works directly with DCCA's Director of Marketing to help implement marketing campaigns for exhibitions, programs, and fundraising events as well as other marketing department duties.

Minimum Education Required
Undergraduate (junior/senior standing)

Qualifications/Skills
The position requires a detail-oriented, creative, skilled communicator who is interested in a future in a contemporary art related field. The DCCA seeks an individual who works well in a team situation, is flexible, and has a strong work ethic; good writing and computer skills are essential. Must have demonstrated experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest). Data entry, web design/development, and/or graphic design experience a plus.

Alternatives Museum Store Internship (Unpaid)

The DCCA is seeking candidates to work at the DCCA Alternatives Museum Store as an intern in Museum Retail Management. Students 18 and older or nonstudent adults are encouraged to apply. Internships are flexible and typically occur over a 3-6 month period with a part or full day worked each week. Summer internships can be structured to take place more frequently over a shorter period of time.

Skills learned include visual merchandising, product selection and buying, working with local artists, inventory control, retail sales, dispensing program information, data entry, filing, and office tasks as needed.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and some experience in retail, the arts, or both.

Special Events Internship (Unpaid)

Description
The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DCCA), a noncollecting art museum located on Wilmington’s Riverfront, is seeking a 10-15 hour per week Special Events Intern for an approximately 12 week internship. The Special Events Intern assists the Director of Special Events with administrative duties, set-up, and planning associated with the DCCA’s varied in-house and rental events. The Special Events Intern is responsible for assistance with donation requests for the fall fundraiser, rental inquiry tracking and follow-up, maintaining venue related websites, planning and implementing DCCA programming, and the marketing/communication of DCCA special events to the public. The position will require daytime and evening availability. Server training through the Division of Alcohol & Tobacco Enforcement is preferred.

Undergraduate (junior/senior standing); graduate work preferred
