About DCCA Summer Camp 2014

The DCCA offers six sessions of summer camps for ages 4 – 15. Participants will work with professionally trained Teaching Artists and have full access to DCCA galleries. Campers will explore contemporary takes on a number of art themes, including text, portraiture, and recycled materials.

Campers investigate these themes in an interdisciplinary way by using visual art making, interpretive games, performance art, and physical exploration. Art activities utilize a variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, and mixed media. Curriculum includes individual projects as well as collaborative art making.

In addition to regular camp hours (listed at right) optional weekly pre-camp (8 – 10 am*) and post-camp (4 – 6 pm*) sessions are available for an additional fee. Each Friday at 3:30 pm there will be an art exhibition of the campers’ work for friends and family.
